We started working with the team at White Cloth Hall ahead of their opening in the summer of 2024, collaborating on finding just the right espresso to go with all their excellent food offerings, or to enjoy on its own in their in-house coffee shop. We wanted to keep the traditional chocolate and caramel notes that you’d usually find in a house espresso, whilst still keeping it interesting. In the end, we landed on this rounded and super smooth Brazilian. On top of being a single producer lot, it also has some surprising notes of citrus and stone fruit - a sure sign of high-quality cultivation and processing.

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Brejetuba municipality of the mountainous Espírito Santo region, Sitio Sossego benefits from a favourable climate and incredibly fertile soils. Paired with the skills of producer Paulo de Paula the outcome is the most exceptional of speciality coffees.

This washed lot has all the dark chocolate and caramel sweetness you’d expect from a Brazilian espresso, but lifted by balancing citrus notes.

Paulo and his younger brothers have been focused on producing quality coffees since the early 2000’s. They were one of the first to start pulping and washing their coffees; they were also one of the first to plant different Catuai or Catucai varieties. Having won several cup competitions, the family have been leading the way for coffee quality in Espírito Santo.
